Why are there so few/no quotes for an Exchange Traded Option (ETO)?
Due to the high quantity of ETOs, natural liquidity is significantly lower than in the share market. To combat this the ASX contract market makers to provide bids/offers. The ETO market making scheme requires that market makers provide continuous quotation in only a small number of unique series’. Market makers will usually respond to quote requests in the remaining series.
