How do I transfer shares held with CommSec to become issuer sponsored with the share registry

You can transfer shares held on CHESS with CommSec to the share registry by contacting a Client Service Officer on 13 15 19, 8am to 6pm (Sydney time) Monday to Friday who will action a verbal request. Alternatively, you can post or email a signed written request that includes:

  1. Full name of the account and all listed account owner or director signatures.
  2. Account number
  3. Stock code and units
  4. Your HIN (found on the holding statement)

You can then email it to CSL-IssuerToChess@cba.com.au or post it to:

CommSec
Attn: Conversions
Locked Bag 22
Australia Square
NSW 1215

We will act on your written request within 2 to 3 business days of receipt. A new holding statement will then be issued to you from the share registry (within approximately two weeks). This will include your new Shareholder Reference Number (SRN). An SRN begins with an ‘I’ and is generally 11 digits long. You will be required to quote this SRN when you wish to sell your shares through a broker or get information regarding your shares from the company’s share registry.
